Cara was born and raised in South Portland, Maine and is a graduate of Portland High School. Aspirations of playing competitive basketball at the Division I level led her to Boston University on a full scholarship.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from BU in 1999, she stayed active in competitive athletics as a strength and conditioning coach at Burlington Sports Complex. There she trained athletes of all calibers, ranging from grade school athletes, to members of the New England Revolution, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.

After a year at Burlington Sports, Cara decided to return to her passion, basketball, and utilize her coaching skills working with the high school girl's basketball at Reading High School in Reading, MA. She took the team from a losing record to a winning record in just one year.

She was then offered a seven month position as an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Southern Maine. This part-time position allowed Cara to pursue an opportunity to work at a real estate company in Boston during the basketball off-season. She became a licensed real estate agent and began her first of four summers working at First Choice Realty. It was here that she experienced success for the first time in a sales environment. She established herself as a leader and top producer in her office.

Cara worked with the women's basketball team for two seasons (2000-2002) and helped lead the team to Little East Champions' status and two NCAA tournament appearances. After her third successful coaching season, Cara decided to go back to school to get her Master's degree.

As a graduate assistant at Providence College, Cara was able to utilize her coaching experience as a strength and conditioning coach to obtain a Master's in Business Administration. Here she studied all facets of business administration and took a particular interest in finance. After graduation, Cara strived to find a job that would combine her love for real estate and her interest in finance. It was then that Cara decided to move forward with her career in the mortgage industry.

Cara first started with a large direct lender that offered their staff extensive support and training. After a year of assisting clients through the refinance process, Cara's passions to help clients become educated homeowners lead her to become a part of Province Mortgage Associates, Inc. There she utilized her extensive knowledge of real estate to guide clients through the loan process and obtain the best loan for each individual client. After 8 years at Province Mortgage, Cara now works as a sales manager at Home Loan Investment Bank where she can assist clients in 47 states across the country.

Cara currently resides in Portsmouth, RI with her partner of 14 yrs, Bryce and two daughters Greyson and Meyer. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and taking her dogs Timber, Bow and Smoot for walks.
